Yes – Although vaping’s much less harmful than smoking, it’s not harmless. So you should plan to eventually quit vaping too, but only when you know you won’t go back to smoking.

It is recommended that non-smokers do not take up vaping as it is used as a smoking cessation tool.

There is no current plan to make vaping illegal, however vaping products must meet all regulatory requirements defined by the New Zealand Government.

No prescription is needed in New Zealand, however if you need help deciding what product would be best for you, head to your nearest Vape Crew. Alternatively, if you prefer to buy vapes online, browse through our online store today.

A refillable pod kit would be the best option if your new to vaping. This will allow you to choose the right nicotine strength to help you quit smoking and give you a classic mouth-to-lung draw, which is more like a cigarette.

A coil is needed for your vape to work. The coil is held in place by an atomizer head and connected to the battery in your vape. The battery heats the coil, which in turn heats the wick (which is soaked in e-liquid) creating vapour.

When you purchase your vape, the box will tell you what coils are best suited for your device, and what wattage is best suited for the coil. Please note, some coils come pre-installed in your pod depending on which vape kit you buy.

If you are a regular vaper, your coil could last a week or two. Irregular or casual vapers might find they only need to change their coil every four weeks. Although if you notice your vape taste burnt or feel a harsher throat hit than usual that is a good sign to change your coil.

You can refill a pod kit by either taking off the mouthpiece to access the filling port at the top or by lifting a silicone tab on either the side or the bottom of the pod and squeezing in your e-liquid.

All vape kits will come with instructions on how/where to refill your device.

A pod does the same thing as what a vape tank does, holds the coil and the e-liquid. Some pods have non-replaceable coils while others do, some pods come prefilled with e-liquid.

Depending on the users previous smoking and vaping experience, a high percent of freebase e-liquid can deliver a throat hit too harsh to enjoy. Nicotine salts deliver a smoother hit while having more nicotine. If you quit smoking, nicotine salts would suit more as it gives you a better and smooth nicotine hit more like a cigarette.

A puff is measurement of how many draws (inhales, tokes, or puffs) you can get from a vaping device before it runs out of e-liquid or battery power.

The manufacturers of vaping devices use a machine to test and determine the number of puffs a device can deliver. This is done in a controlled setting and the machine produces a consistent puff that takes usually less than one second. This is how they determine the number of puffs displayed on the packet.

Given that we all puff differently this number is only an approximate one. Someone who draws on their vape for 2 or more seconds will not get the quoted number on the box, it does however give you an indication of how big the device is and help you determine which vape suits you best.

The New Zealand Consumers Guarantee has deemed 3 months appropriate for the warranty on vaping devices. Therefore, if your device has been bought from Vape Crew, it will come with an automatic 90 day warranty from the time of purchase.
